A little bit of background:
-
Designed initially for IT operations, but applicable to any organization and facility, docuMOP was developed to fill a critical need. The mission critical facilities of an IT operation demand quick response when any out of limits or non-standard condition exists. Human error is a high risk when responding (or not responding) and interacting with equipment. Simply put, in any type of operation when error is the response, things get worse. Some of the world’s most widely known problems have come down to human error. The 2010 Gulf Oil Spill has been blamed on improper response when the well pressure had built up. Toyota’s gas pedal problems have been found to not be from design error but most likely wrong floor mats being put into some cars. Its not that the correct fix of these and many problems is unknown or indeterminable, it is simply the “right” solution was not implemented. When a problem comes up in mission critical facilities it is far better to have pre-planned the solution or if an unforeseen condition occurs then the proper documentation needs to be readily available. It is much better to react properly via a plan than it is have to stop and develop a plan and then act. docuMOP is the resource providing the solution.
- docuMOP in its basic form is an inexpensive off site library housing a collection of information such as manuals on your organization's equipment. Hosted in the cloud, it is available at virtually all times and places. If your facility is affected by a problem you might not have access to your facility or to information contained within. docuMOP’s cloud basis means you’ll have remote access by computer or even smart phone. In docuMOP’s modules, greater power can be provided to your company or organization. These modules can house corrective procedures (MOPs) already developed by you and your company or ones developed and offered by docuMOP based upon our previous experience with other facilities and equipment. Or we can help analyze and develop necessary documentation and procedure as you need in implementing docuMOP.
Questions to ask yourself when considering docuMOP.
- Does your organization find following pre-planned procedures important?
- In mission critical operations it is obviously a yes, but really the same is true when telling a spouse how to change a tire, don't forget to block the opposite wheel or the jack could fail! When you think about it everything you do benefits by a plan. When consequences of not following a plan are bad, docuMOP is the answer.
- Does your organization have multiple people doing multiple things sometimes without formal training?.
- A church is a great example where many volunteer and do many different things so training usually is not easy. docuMOP can be that documentation and training resource.
- Is your business routinely supplying complex systems to your customers?
- Think of a home builder, wouldn't it be nice to provide an always available resource option to home buyers documenting their home and appliances within? docuMOP can do that and provides the homeowner a resources they can decide to expand and continue with over the years. Satisfied homeowners are good, but providing that higher level of satisfaction is great for building the home builder satisfied customer list!
- Think of "what if" situations that call for proper reaction..
- What if power is lost? What if my generator doesn't start? What if I get a battery smell from somewhere? What if water is on the floor in my computer room? What if the lights won't come on in my equipment room? Questions can be simple or complex. They can be equipment or people oriented. How do I do CPR? Who in our company know's CPR? All docuMOP versions incorporate life safety documentation.
- Look seriously at the questions in the right sidebar. With docuMOP being a low cost experience driven program wouldn't it be an asset to your organization?
- In the IT world which spawned docuMOP and many other organizations, one can not allow disruption to occur if at all preventable. Downtime is too costly in dollars and lost customers. Why not lean on and utilize an experienced provider such as docuMOP to assist in strengthening your operation?
- For those attempting to shift uptime responsibility via co-location wouldn't you be more comfortable if your co-location provider has docuMOP? We even have a docuMOP package for those using off site co-location to ensure you know how to react to conditions that may come up so you have a plan in place should your co-located equipment have a problem!
